The Bigger Picture
One in ten girls in sub-Saharan Africa misses school during her period. That adds up to roughly 20% of the school year. Many do not come back. When we equip a girl to manage her health and stay in school, we are not just solving one problem. We are interrupting a cycle that has held generations of girls back.
Our work directly improves school attendance, reduces the stigma around menstruation, and equips girls with skills that last a lifetime.
What Changes When a Girl Goes Through the Academy:
- She understands her body and can manage her period with confidence
- She has practical skills in financial literacy and digital tools
- She is connected to a peer network of girls who support each other
- She graduates with a kit, a certificate, and a sense of her own potential
- She becomes a resource for other girls in her school and community
